Learning and Development Manager

Elite US law firm based in the City is seeking a confident and collaborative Learning and Development Manager with several years experience at a law firm. This role will focus on developing business professionals across Europe and Asia Pacific (APAC), as well as leading lawyer professional development initiatives in the APAC region.

This strategic and hands-on role offers the opportunity to help shape firmwide development initiatives and to design and deliver learning experiences that make a meaningful difference.

Key Responsibilities of the Learning and Development Manager:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the firmwide strategic direction for lawyer professional development in APAC
  • Partner with key stakeholders to assess development needs and identify skills gaps among business professionals across the region
  • Delivering and facilitating select learning programmes to support individual growth and team performance
  • Assist with and oversee the Learning and Development Coordinator’s tracking of lawyers’ compliance, including CPD for Hong Kong and Singapore lawyers
  • Work with external consultants, facilitators and subject-matter experts to co-create and deliver tailored programmes
  • Designing effective and engaging learning solutions, using best practices in adult learning and instructional design
  • Mentoring junior team members, sharing knowledge and supporting their professional growth

Skills & Requirements of the Learning and Development Manager:

  • 4+ years’ experience in designing and delivering learning and development programmes within a law firm environment
  • Experience coordinating lawyer training and/or learning and development programmes and initiatives
  • Proven ability to apply adult learning principles, instructional design techniques, and learning measurement strategies across a range of formats
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) to design and deliver content
  • A strong team player who works well across teams, functions and time zones
