BD & Marketing Coordinator

Leading US law firm is looking to hire a new Business Development and Marketing Coordinator to support the Transactional practices in Europe. The Coordinator is a central part of the team and is involved in a variety of projects including: entering and maintaining data in the Firm’s experience management system; assisting in the creation and maintenance of business development and marketing collateral for the group, pitches and web materials; coordinating drafts of directory submissions and client references; coordinating activities to improve the profile of the practices including marketing programs and events, third-party sponsorships, and conferences.

 

Duties and Responsibilities for the Marketing & BD Coordinator:

 

Business Development

  • Works with certain practices to prepare and coordinate responses for use in various industry survey submissions, e.g., Chambers UK and Legal 500 UK.
  • Helps to develop and implement systems to acquire and manage representative experience in the Firm’s experience management system.
  • Assists in the preparation of client proposals and pitches.
  • Helps maintain a library of materials for pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.
  • Updates practice information and lawyer biographies on the Firm’s website, as well as coordinates occasional republication in external venues.
  • Helps write and edit draft practice group descriptions, lawyer biographies, and client presentations to support business development opportunities.
  • Helps conduct research on clients/prospective clients, industry research, and occasional competitive intelligence to develop knowledge about our clients, their industries, and legal needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Marketing Programs

  • Assists the European team and overall Marketing Department with tasks supporting the launch and implementation of programs/events for clients and alumni.
  • Assists, as needed, in the planning and execution of high-level programs/events.
  • Maintains lists and databases related to marketing programs.
  • Assists with communications related to marketing programs.
  • Coordinates metrics and tracking tools to report on results of programs.
  • Works with Marketing colleagues and lawyers to identify and engage with third-party conferences of interest and serve as a point of contact to negotiate sponsorships and place speakers.
  • Liaises with other groups/departments to:
    • Ensure consistency in presentation of Continuing Legal Education (CLE)/Continuing Professional Development (CPD) information.
    • Evaluate webinar and conference providers.
    • Refine and improve use of CRM system to create targeted invitation lists.
  • Handles the preparation and distribution of client Updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Applicants need to have a minimum of 18 months’ legal marketing/BD experience and be able to use their own initiative and have a positive/can-do attitude.  Salary is flexible dependent upon experience, ranging from £35,000 to high £40,000s for this new BD & Marketing Coordinator position.
