Client Development Manager – US Law Firm – Central London – Agile Working

Hugely successful US law firm is looking to hire a new Client Development Manager to join a permanent basis to support the firm’s litigation practice groups in London as well as serving as the day-to-day BD team in Europe and the US offices. The Client Development Manager will help to initiate and execute a wide range of client development initiatives that involve marketing planning, industry and client targeting, pitches and proposals, directory submissions, events and communications and work closely with the Senior Business Development Manager in the US headquarters.

 

The role is based in stunning offices close to St Pauls. Salary is circa £75,000 depending on experience. The firm operate on 9.30-5.30 hours and offers agile working of 3 days in the office, 2 from home, however candidates must be willing to work overtime as business needs require.

 

The Client Development Manager duties include;

 

Business Development:

  • Develop tailored pitches, presentations and responses to RFPs for specific clients/ prospects/ industries/ sectors that demonstrate client understanding and firm’s competitive advantages. Handles related pitch tracking efforts
  • Coordinates and conducts various research projects used for business development efforts, including company and industry research, pursuit lists, and competitive intelligence, in an effort to exploit market differentiation.
  • Helps drive the Firm’s strategic client programs, including the day-to-day management of a client team.
  • Implementation of practice group plans and business development activities beyond pitches, such as client targeting initiatives and pipeline management.
  • Identification of new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients including synergies across practice groups and driving related marketing and business development activity.
  • Working with relevant attorneys, coordination of industry body memberships to maximise profile and return on investment.

 

Credentials and Bios:

  • Develops and maintains compelling content for use in the practice groups’ marketing and business development initiatives including capability statements, practice group overviews and credentials.
  • Updates and maintains attorney biographies and team sheets.
  • Updates and maintains experience (including experience lists for practice groups) and supports full integration and adoption of firmwide experience database.
  • Updates and maintains attorney bios and rankings on the website and internal systems.

 

Client Communications/Collateral:

  • Project manages and coordinates a range of client communications including legal updates, announcements, newsletters, specific thought leadership campaigns.
  • Working closely with the web team, creates and maintains compelling practice, office and attorney- related content on the Firm’s website.
  • Working closely with the Firm’s digital team, prepares relevant social media communications.

 

Legal Directories/Practice Specific Awards:

  • Managing end-to-end process for the drafting, submission and related follow up on relevant legal directory submissions (Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR etc.) and league table submissions.
  • Managing and drafting of ad hoc awards submissions.
  • Seminars and Events:
  • Working closely with the events team, develop and deliver targeting client events including seminars, webinars/audiocasts, conference sponsorships, exhibitions, and other events, to ensure they deliver a good return on investment against the Firm’s objectives.

 

Candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field as well as a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a client development / business development led role in a law firm, preferably focusing on litigation.
