US law firm with a well-established presence in the City of London is looking to hire a new Business Development Manager to join on a permanent basis to support all London and EMEA practice groups. Located in ultra-modern offices close to Liverpool Street, the firm offers agile working of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, with the hours of 9.30-5.30, however it is expected that the Business Development Manager will have an active and visual presence from the start. The role would suit either a Senior Business Development Executive or a Junior Business Development Manager, with a salary range of £60,000 – £70,000.

 

The Business Development Manager will lead on a wide range of BD initiatives for the London office as well as supporting their global BD teams.

 

Reporting into the Senior Business Development Manager, this newly created role will see you form close knit working relationships with London and overseas Partners.

 

Duties include:

 

  • Identify and facilitate client targeting, including go-to-market strategies around agreed opportunities.
  • Lead the production of dynamic and client-facing pitches, RFP’s and other marketing material as required building on the best of the firm’s capabilities and experience.
  • Conduct strategic research on potential clients, competitors and practice developments.
  • Identify business trends and opportunities and ensure that the firm is optimally positioned to grow market share.
  • Manage and lead directory submissions and league rankings.
  • Oversee the upkeep, compilation and correct categorisation of experience for London.
  • Work in collaboration with the events team to build successful events, including targeted client lists, event materials, participant tracking, on-site management and targeted follow up activities.
  • Identify and recommend conferences, speaking opportunities and networking opportunities that strengthen the firm’s market recognition.
  • Build effective agendas for internal meetings and participate in knowledge sharing and best practice to best highlight the work and initiatives of the London office.
  • Collaborate with marketing personnel across the firm to drive industry and practice initiatives on cross-selling and cross-practice initiatives, communications, and pursuits.
  • Act as a first point of call on transactional BD requests.

 

Candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an international law firm law firm preferably with a business development focus on corporate transactions. You will also be degree educated in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field. Candidates will be motivated to build relationships, driven and responsive as well as possessing excellent writing skills.
