Finance Systems Analyst – Global Law Firm

This global law firm situated close to Liverpool St station wish to hire a Finance Systems Analyst with a sound working knowledge of Elite 3e and other finance related systems. Based in vibrant and modern offices , the firm offer agile working of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, operating on the hours of 9.30- 5.30. They are keen to hire an Elite 3E systems specilaist on an interim 18 month FTC, offering a salary of £55,000  – £75,000.


Reporting into the CFO, the Finance Systems Analyst will take ownership of projects, reporting and upgrades, acting as a go between with the Finance and IT teams as well as practice groups firmwide. The Finance Systems Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and administering the overall configuration of the Elite 3e PMS system.


Responsibilities include:


Finance Systems Support

  • Create, review and maintain users and access permissions for all users of the PMS, ensuring agreed security and access policies are adhered to • Maintenance of fee earner targets, charge out rates, approval limits, case transfers, department moves, general ledger budget set ups, assist with new joiners and leavers, time issues • Provide advice and guidance to system users on standard procedures, reports and KPI’s • Prepare and maintain documentation, including specifications, communications, training documents and system setups • Creation and maintenance of finance reports, categorising and documenting data sources and report definitions • Be the principal point of contact with software suppliers, their support teams and the internal IT team, owning all incidents through to resolution. Document issues and software bugs clearly • Implement, monitor and report on controls, auditing, balancing and multicurrency • Resolution of pending and missing time issues.



  • Monitor and impact assess release notes as they are published by suppliers/vendors • Liaise with stakeholders, and build effective working relationships to garner support for initiatives, projects and business goals • Document existing systems processes, identify weaknesses and opportunities, and propose suitable process revisions or enhancements • Assist in the definition and documentation of new finance procedures arising from regulatory changes, process reviews or project work • Draft the communications relating to changes in procedure and support the L&D Trainer in the delivery of training as required • Manage the change request process by gathering, analysing and documenting specifications before development and delivery of approved changes



  • Ensure reports are developed accurately and published consistently to those with required access • Carry out development of dashboards, reports and multi-dimensional reports



  • Draft, execute and co-ordinate agreed functional testing and scripts, ensuring sign-off within project timetables. Document test results and highlight areas for additional testing and review • Overall management of the testing cycles for software releases – managing the team and the wider end users • Maintain records of test environments and configurations to ensure integrity and validity of test results


Finance Systems Management

  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the 3E system meets their needs • Develop and implement short/ long term plans to meet the firms existing and future requirements • Provide ideas and solutions for issues in the accounts systems • Drive change to improve reports and processes • Manage the design, development, support, maintenance, and evaluation of financial systems • Improve the process for requesting changes and logging incidents • Manage vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to ensure delivery to time, quality and cost


This role will suit a current Finance Systems Analyst with minimum 3 years’ experience of configuring, developing and using the Elite 3e platform in a law firm. Candidates will have an exceptional eye for detail, able to work with and manipulate various data and creating technical and user level documentation and reports. An advanced knowledge of Excel, SQL, MS Reporting Services and understanding of accounting processes are essential.
