A prestigious US law firm is looking to hire a new Graduate Recruitment & Development Manager on an initial 18 month FTC, supervising a team of three in managing the Graduate Recruitment & Development function for the London office.  A salary of up to £90,000 is on offer, plus excellent benefits and agile working.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Oversee, implement and develop the GR strategy to ensure the firm attracts and recruits the best talent and is keeping up to date with market trends;
  • Oversee and support the Graduate Recruitment & Development Advisors with the day-to-day running of the attraction, recruitment and selection of trainees;
  • Oversee all aspects of employer branding, including reviewing all promotional materials; graduate recruitment website, content hub, Instagram page and online media brands etc.
  • Oversee the firm’s newly launched Instagram page and work closely with our advertising agency to ensure the social campaign meets the objectives set;
  • Build and develop the firms brand amongst the student and graduate population both on and offline;
  • Maintain, review and develop the firm’s strategy with regard to the annual milk round season and attend events virtually and in person;
  • Oversee the vacation schemes, first-year fast track scheme, insight days and the direct training contract selection and offer processes. Including; screening applications, interviewing and leading on the offer decision making process; while at the same time ensuring an excellent candidate experience;
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the key diversity organisations the firm partners with, attend events and networking sessions;
  • Working with the DEI Manager and HR Director, oversee the various diversity programmes in place, and lead on ways in which the firm can enhance its ability to attract and recruit a diverse pool of trainees;
  • Oversee all virtual and in-person work experience programmes and oversee, implement and develop the GR strategy to ensure the firm develops and retains the best talent and is keeping up to date with market trends;
  • Oversee and support the Graduate Recruitment & Development Advisor with monitoring trainee performance and development;
  • Oversee the onboarding and induction of new trainees and oversee the overseas seat allocation process and  the mid-seat and end of seat appraisal process for trainees;
  • Oversee the development of current trainees, monitoring performance, and proactively deal with any issues in addition to supporting trainees with any wellbeing matters;
  • Oversee the qualification process; helping to ensure the business needs are met as well as trainee aspirations;
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide outplacement support where applicable;
  • Oversee the implementation of the SQE and to continue developing the SQE Plus course in partnership with the University of Law and work with the Training Principal and GR Partners to ensure the course meets the needs of the business.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Graduate Recruitment & Development Advisor and Graduate Recruitment & Development Assistant including being responsible for guiding, coaching and developing junior team members and being the main point of contact, both internally and externally, for all queries relating to the Graduate Recruitment & Development function;
  • Ensure the SRA regulations are met with regards to developing and governing trainees (including the SQE);
  • Work with the HR team during the annual compensation review with regard to trainee salary and bonus payments; and manage the graduate recruitment budget;

Candidates must have previous experience managing a team within a graduate recruitment wider team, strong written, organisational and communication skills and the ability to engage and build relationships across the firm. The Graduate & Development Manager will earn a salary of up to £90,000 plus excellent benefits.
