A prestigious International law firm is looking to hire a new Head of Building & Operations / Workplace Services to help deliver the firms real estate strategy and a seamless operational service providing a premium client experience. The successful candidate will have strategic and operational responsibility for the firm’s property portfolio, including real estate strategy & project management, operational management and services delivery, procurement, budget & supplier management, business continuity planning, health & safety and sustainability. A salary of up to £120,000 is on offer plus excellent benefits and agile working.
Responsibilities include managing the real estate strategy & optimising the property portfolio, including developing business cases for new locations, lease & dilapidations negotiations and overseeing refurbs of existing locations, driving progress across all project stages including workplace strategy & design, construction, fit-out and operational readiness for new and existing locations, ensuring a focus at all times on ensuring a seamless transition between the environments for our people who should feel supported and satisfied with their workplace, able to maintain high levels of productivity and benefiting from the social interaction, networking and development opportunities that the office facilitates, overseeing property project management, costs and carbon emissions management and optimising the productivity & satisfaction of our people through any workplace change. Other responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day facilities management & maintenance for the national offices, achieving & maintaining ISO standards for each office, delivering on our environmental sustainability commitments – Delivering robust carbon emissions data management capability to track and deliver sustainability targets in relation to carbon neutrality & net-zero (scope 1,2 & 3) and the 1.5 Legal Charter Workplace, Health & Safety policy development, oversight & engagement and day-to-day execution (e.g., workstation & H&S assessments) to ensure the health & safety of our people, their supplier and their clients are at the heart of everything they do. Additionally you would be working closely with Finance and Risk teams, overseeing Property & Workplace Services related procurement, risk and financials, including planning & budget management, recharge mechanisms, cost control, service charge management and serviced office finance control and verification, working with Risk Procurement team to develop and implement procurement frameworks and contractual arrangements specific to Workplace. – Developing Workplace Services data governance, including accountability, process flows and approvals – improving data quality, frequency and relevance to decision making.
The successful Head of Building & Operations needs to be at Senior Manager / Head of Level within a professional services organisation with extensive experience in procurement, budgeting and working at senior / board / partnership level. A salary of up to £120,000 is on offer plus excellent benefits and agile working.
