A top international law firm is looking to hire a new Head of Risk to join the London office on a permanent basis, supporting the Director of Risk with the management of operational risk within the firm and acting as the principal point of contact for Partners and Fee-Earners in relation to such issues. The role will pay up to £140,000 plus offer exceptional benefits and agile working.
Responsibilities will include the involvement in firm-wide projects in order to ensure risk issues are properly considered or appointing other members of the team to take this role and acting as a point of escalation, acting as line manager for a Senior Risk Lawyer who is focussed on compliance issues including engagement terms, Outside Counsel Guidelines and regulatory queries, overall day-to-day responsibility for Business Acceptance within the firm, advising Partners and Fee-Earners on conflicts of interest and financial crime issues and assisting the Director of Risk in the resolution of national and international commercial conflicts, administering the international conflicts resolution process under the supervision of the Director of Risk, acting as deputy MLRO and supporting the MLRO with a range of relevant issues, including dealing with internal suspicious activity reports and external SARs, keeping up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices, acting as the firm’s Anti-Bribery & Corruption Officer and monitoring the Gifts and Hospitality register, including providing advice to Partners and Fee-Earners on potential bribery and corruption matters and acting as the firm’s Sanctions Officer and advising Partners and Fee-Earners on potential sanctions issues.
The successful Head of Risk must be 6 years PQE, with experience working within a Risk team at a top law firm, along with excellent written, communication and leadership skills. The role is paying up to £140,000 plus excellent benefits and agile working.
