One of our International Law Firm Clients is currently recruiting for the position of Head of Sustainability on a permanent basis in their London Office. This role will be seated in the firms busy Corporate Real Estate and Procurement department and will report directly into the Head of Real Estate and Procurement and the successful candidate will also work closely with the Global Managing Partner for Diversity & Inclusion and Responsible Business. The focus of this role will be to create and implement sustainability goals for the firm, working with key stakeholders to identify these targets. This will contribute towards achieving the firms Sustainability goals and actively shape the Sustainability strategy moving forward.


The duties of this role will be to embed sustainability plans into important areas of the firm, supporting the global responsible business committee and implementing a global energy management strategy to ensure the firm is as ‘green’ as possible. The successful candidate will also be required to Manage documents and records, databases of internal commitments, identify and assess the firms risks and opportunities and support all global offices in achieving and maintaining sustainability accreditation through, training, auditing, and making sure goals and targets are being engaged with. Candidates will be tasked with raising the profile and importance of sustainability within the firm and the benefits that come with doing so, successfully engaging and working with global responsible business teams to ensure they support aims of the firm going forward, this will be achieved by managing budgets, keeping up to date with compliance and legislation and monitoring global progress against the sustainability plan.


Candidates for this role must be degree educated and have a strong understanding of global energy and sustainability initiatives, including UN Sustainable Development Goals, Science Based Targets, CDP combined with strong knowledge of LEED, BRREAM, ISO14001, and other EAMs. Candidates must have strong problem-solving skills and have the ability to analyse problems and voice solutions. Project and programme management skills are essential along with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form meaningful internal relationships with key stakeholders.


The Firm have recently introduced a hybrid working plan and the standard hours for this role are 9:30am- 5:30pm with a flexible attitude required around the needs of the firm. The firm are offering a generous salary and benefits package for this position.
