An award winning law firm is looking to hire a new Senior HR Business Partner to join them on a permanent basis to provide first class support and client services to their respective client group, working closely with the partners and leadership team to foster a culture of high performance. The role holder will also act as an escalation point for generalist HR related queries, particularly supporting with employee relations matters. Responsibilities for the successful Senior HR Business Partner will include building strong client relationships with key individuals in areas of responsibility, providing commercial HR advice and strategic counsel to leadership throughout the firm, including at Board level, working collaboratively with partners and leaders to understand people requirements and identifying appropriate programmes and initiatives to drive the high performance culture, devising strategies and interventions to improve retention and reduce attrition within client groups, ensuring focus on employee engagement activities in conjunction with the partners and identifying local and firm wide key areas for improvement, working collaboratively across the HR team to ensure that collectively we are delivering for the needs of the client group, including working closely with the resourcing team on recruitment strategies and our development team on career planning, leading the delivery of annual people processes including business planning, budgeting, performance reviews and salary/bonus review, providing support to embed a new HR system across your client group and championing the process and culture changes that this enables. Other duties include acting as an escalation point for any formal disciplinary, capability or grievance processes as required, leveraging expertise across the team on complex issues to ensure commercial outcomes, providing impartial guidance to line managers on HR issues, i.e. performance, absence, wellbeing, undertaking welfare conversations with our people when needed, ensuring confidentiality at all times, with a view to maintaining staff morale and engagement, play a key role in ensuring new joiners are settled into the firm and throughout their probation period, ensure all elements of new joiner process are in place prior to start, liaising with the HR support team as necessary, liaising with the firm’s Occupational Health Advisors, referring cases as necessary and ensuring implementation of recommendations.
The successful Senior HR Business Partner must be experienced at manager or senior manager level within a professional services organisation, preferably within a law firm, additionally you must have extensive experience within employee relations including taking the lead on cases.
