US law firm based in London is looking to hire a Manger for Human Resources, Europe to cover a fixed term contract of 12 to 14 months in duration.  You will be responsible for aiding in the development of HR strategy and carrying out that strategy in line with the firm’s business goals. This will be achieved through the design and implementation of HR policies, practices and initiatives across all areas of people management. The Manager of Human Resources, Europe holds a generalist role, with a focus on day-to-day generalist HR issues, Employee Relations, Mobility, Compliance, H&S, DE&I and Transformation. Responsible for, but not limited to continually review HR processes and make recommendations for improvements and project management initiatives through the full project management cycle, from scoping through to implementation and evaluation, provide supervision and management to your team, responsible for employee relations guidance, coaching and investigation, manage the day-to-day administration of various immigration situations including those seconded or transferred within the Cooley network to or from London or European offices and those seeking or needing to work outside home location, ensure the firm is meeting it statutory compliance responsibilities and working with the Risk Director to ensure regulatory requirements are being met, work with the Facilities Manager on H&S issues including risk assessment and reviewing DSE & workstation assessment questionnaires to ensure staff are set up correctly and have the equipment they need. eg nursing mothers, employees with disabilities/illness/injury needs are being met and to understand the HR health and safety responsibilities of the London office, in coordination with the firm’s Director of Employee Relations & Staff Development, research digital transformation initiatives e.g. use of social media to further our recruitment strategy and coordinate with the US HR management on timing to ensure a consistent, firmwide adaptation where feasible, respond to DE&I Charter requirements and complete diversity surveys as required and analysis of headcount, absence and diversity and inclusion.  Applicants should ideally be CIPD qualified, have previously been an HR Manager with line reports at a law firm and be confident and willing to take on L&D, diversity and analysis projects. Salary is to £70,000.  This role is looking at a May 2021 start date so applicants on a notice period can potentially still apply.
