A growing UK law firm situated at the heart of the City is currently looking to hire a new Legal Administrator to sit within the Trade Mark team, working directly with an IP Partner on a permanent basis.  This role will offer the administrator a huge amount of facetime with the Partner and an opportunity to further their legal administration experience in an autonomous fashion.  The role will be working 3 days in the office, 2 remotely, with a salary of £25,000 on offer plus impressive benefits.

 

Responsibilities for the Legal Administrator will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and filing of trade mark applications and oppositions
  • Following up on progress of trade marks from filing through to registration
  • Ensuring timely payment of official fees and liaising with accounts as necessary
  • Assisting the trade mark paralegal with keeping the trade mark records and diary dates up to
  • Entering onto the system and checking trade mark deadlines
  • Completing standard letters for trade mark applications and oppositions
  • Dealing with the relevant trade mark registries and overseas attorneys
  • Compiling Fee Schedules and a database of preferred overseas Attorneys
  • Conducting trade mark searches
  • Responding to telephone enquiries and ensuring messages are passed on quickly and accurately
  • Assisting the Partners, Trainee Trade Mark Attorney, Trade Mark Paralegal and other associates with ad hoc duties as necessary
  • Maintaining manual and computer filing of ongoing matters
  • Keeping abreast of technology changes by undergoing training where necessary complying with the firm’s practices, procedures and quality standards
  • Assisting in administrative tasks, e.g. obtaining billing information, preparing bills, etc
  • Attending and taking part in department and sector group meeting
  • Keeping trackers up to date and send chaser emails to team
  • Sending watch notices to clients
  • Managing EUIPO, UKIPO and WIPO account – producing and updating statements, monitoring current account, sending payments, liaising with accounts for month and year end account reconciliations
  • Completing international referrals
