Legal Cashier – Boutique Law Firm – City – Agile Working

This specialist law firm new to the City with a strong private and corporate client following are looking to hire a Legal Cashier to head up firmwide cashier duties. This is a truly unique opportunity to join a firm very much on the ascension in both the City and international legal arenas. The firm will offer the Legal Cashier a generous salary of circa £50,000 DOE and benefits as well as an agile working policy of 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.


Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Legal Cashier you will take charge on all transactional accounting functions, setting up procedures on Aderant, providing a comprehensive and efficient service to partners and business support functions.


Duties include:


  • Bank reconciliations, posting of multi-currency funds in and out, search fees, invoices, expert fees
  • Processing of day-to-day office and client accounts transactions, entering and releasing payments on the banking system, posting receipts and registering disbursement vouchers
  • Processing client to office transfers in line with SAR compliance procedures
  • Setting up expense claims and vendor payments on the internet banking platforms for payment approval
  • Preparation of bi-monthly supplier payment run, ensuring all invoices are paid in accordance with the supplier’s payment terms, handling supplier queries
  • Process staff expenses
  • Identification of unallocated office receipts
  • Analysing and posting a high quantity of professional disbursements to correct disbursement type codes
  • Run interest calculations on any funds held on completion or payments made, in line with the Firm’s interest policy and SAR regulations.
  • Assist with client billing, revenue control and firmwide projects




  • A current legal cashier with minimum 5 years’ experience working in a busy international accounts department in a law firm handling client account
  • Experience with Aderant preferred
  • Flexible and patient attitude towards working practices and processes
  • Communicate confidently and responsively to wider staff and clients with regards to handling queries and actioning tasks
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
