Library & Information Services Manager – Prestigious UK Law Firm!

Our client is a prestigious London law firm – they are now looking to recruit a Library and Information Services Manager to join their busy Knowledge department in London. You will be working closely with the Head of Knowledge and Knowledge Coordinator.

You will ideally have previous experience of working a in Library and Information Services function within a law firm or professional services firm. A library / information qualification would be desirable, but not essential.

This opportunity will suit someone who is at managerial or indeed someone who is at Officer / Coordinator level who are looking to make the ‘step up.’

The standard hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm. The salary on offer is highly competitive + benefits. This role is a permanent position, and you will be working in their office for 2-3 days a week, the remaining days working from home (flexibility required).

Responsibilities as a Library and Information Services Manager:

• Providing high-quality, cost-effective information services to support legal and business needs
• General management of online and hard copy resources
• Actively managing the budget for and procurement of library and information resources
• Ensuring data protection, copyright and relevant legislation and firm policies are adhered to
• Proactively monitoring new publications, subscriptions and platforms
• Managing central library catalogue
• Championing and promoting information tools and resources
• Regularly training fee earners and other business stakeholders
• Working to upskill fee earners in good research practice
• Working with the wider Knowledge team
• Creating engaging interactive training content in a variety of formats
• Supporting other knowledge / firmwide projects

Requirements as a Library and Information Services Manager:

• Previous experience of working a in Library and Information Services function
• Ideally experience gained from a law firm or professional services firm
• Library / Information qualification desirable
• Understanding of how information services and knowledge management works in a business
• Competent on all MS Office packages
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
