Litigation Knowledge Development Counsel/Lawyer

One of the UK’s top boutique law firms is looking for a Knowledge Development Lawyer to join their KM & Compliance team and to work closely with the Commercial Disputes departments and Business Services staff across the firm on an initial 9-12 month fixed term contract. This a fantastic candidate with 4 – 10 year PQE experience who wish to move away from a Fee Earning role and into a more Compliance/Business Services based role. Applicants will need to have a good education and excellent IT/technical and drafting skills. Duties will include identifying relevant cases, news and articles and disseminating to the Commercial Disputes departments, assisting with the creation and management of precedents and additional legal knowledge and knowhow for use by the Commercial Disputes departments, updating the Commercial Disputes departments on key legal developments, writing articles and suggesting topics for fee earners to write on, answering legal queries from the Commercial Disputes departments, identifying relevant consultation papers and preparing a response on behalf of the firm, identifying and enabling the dissemination of knowledge which is useful and relevant to other departments, carrying out discrete research on points of law, producing and implementing processes and procedures to help everybody achieve their goals, work efficiently, strive towards best practice in the delivery of our litigation services, comply with regulatory obligations and any practice/business management standards which we set ourselves (e.g. Lexcel), identifying areas of risk or compliance and consider methods, processes or guidance which would assist the department in minimising any such risk, advising management on legal and compliance issues. Standard hours for this role are 9.30am – 5.30pm and this role is working 4 days-a-week, or less/more, as the working hours are flexible depending on the requirements and experience of the right applicant. Candidates must have previous experience of working within a Litigation department.
