Practice Support Manager -Top UK Law Firm – Flexible Hybrid Working

A prestigious UK law firm is looking to hire a new Practice Support Manager Executive to join them in their Birmingham or Nottingham office on a permanent basis. The focus of this role will be organised Legal Support Teams, and manage resource allocation in their areas to ensure service levels are maintained across the department, distributing workloads fairly, and that there is cover during holiday periods. They must be able to build strong relationships with Fee-earners and support staff in their teams and be understanding of client needs. Standard hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm and a competitive salary plus fantastic benefits is on offer along with a flexible hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

 

Responsibilities will include being the main point of contact for key stakeholders, work allocation and capacity tracking, demonstrate good knowledge of the relevant practice areas and client needs. The Practice Support Manager must ensure service levels are maintained across the department, distributing workload fairly, and that there is cover during holiday periods. They must be able to build strong relationships with Fee-earners and support staff in their teams and be understanding of client needs. The Practice Support Manager must also monitor work is correctly prioritised and must be proactive in terms of keeping up to date on various issues, trend changes in the industry etc. and taking action to fix or prevent any possible issues. A key part of this role will be people management. The Practice Support Manager will have 12 direct reports and must be prepared to take on workload of other Practice Support Managers in their absence. The Practice Support Manager will need to have previous experience managing a team and will be responsible for regular progress meetings, annual appraisals, probation reviews, training and wellbeing and other issues.

 

Candidates must have prior experience in line management, resource management and workforce planning, within a professional services environment or Law Firm. Additionally, candidates must have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, excellent written, organisation and communication skills.
