An award winning law firm is looking to hire a new Senior Risk Lawyer for their London office on a permanent basis to work within the Risk Management team, working closely with the Director of Risk.
Salary to £130,000
Hybrid pattern 3 days in the office / 2 days remotely
Standard hours 9:30am to 5:30pm
This is a full rounded risk role, covering all aspects of risk and compliance for the UK and some of the international operations.
Responsibilities for the Risk Lawyer will include assisting the Director of Risk in the day-to-day management of any claims made against the firm, including the investigation of potential liability and liaising with the firm’s insurers and external solicitors where necessary, investigating complaints and preparing responses to the complainant and regulatory bodies where necessary, assisting the Director of Risk in arranging the insurance renewals for the firm, including Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber and General Insurance and dealing with queries in relation to the firm’s cover, assisting with the management of the firm’s suite of engagement documentation and Terms of Business, reviewing client agreements, Outside Counsel Guidelines and reviewing changes to the firm’s engagement terms, supporting the Director of Risk (who is also the firm’s COLP) in respect of satisfying all SRA requirements and providing guidance to the firm on professional conduct issues, supervising the Junior Risk Lawyer and managing their workload, horizon scanning and reviewing and updating the firm’s risk management policies and guidance as necessary, delivering training on risk issues.
Our client is looking for a qualified lawyer with experience of defendant solicitors, professional negligence and/or a risk and compliance role within a commercial law firm.
