Risk Lawyer

 

International law firm is looking to hire a new Risk Manager, reporting directly to the Director of Risk and working within the Risk Management Team.  Our client understands this role will suit applicants with general risk and compliance experience and training will be provided for any missing experience.

 

The key responsibilities for this Risk Lawyer will include:

 

Assisting with reviewing, maintaining and updating the firm’s engagement terms, Outside Counsel Guidelines and Counsel’s Terms of Business; Assisting with outgoing or incoming file transfers as partners leave and join the firm; Conducting legal research, particularly in relation to the firm’s obligations under the SRA’s Standards and Regulations and advising internal clients as necessary; Drafting risk related documents and policies and internal updates; Preparing training materials for inductions and other risk related training sessions and helping to deliver training; Maintaining all risk related registers and schedules; Assisting with risk related queries in pitch documents and supplier questionnaires.

Assisting with a broad range of ad hoc risk related queries sent to the firm’s risk management inbox; Horizon scanning and becoming involved in risk-related projects as they arise.

 

Risk Lawyer applicants will need:

 

Working knowledge of regulatory issues affecting solicitors and demonstrable interest in risk and compliance.

Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust within the business and the team.

Practical and able to provide clearly though tout, pragmatic and creative solutions.

Able to remain calm and professional when working under pressure.

Team-oriented and willing to assist others in the team when necessary
