Secretarial Manager – Top City Law Firm – Generous Salary & Hybrid Working

A top UK law firm is looking to hire a new Secretarial Manager on a permanent basis to manage a team of 22.  This would be a fantastic role for either an existing secretarial manager, or a team leader stepping up in to the role.  This position will offer a generous salary and benefits package plus agile working, 3 days a week in the office, 2 days from home.

 

Responsibilities will include the day-to-day management of the secretarial team, including executive assistants, legal PAs and administrative assistant, building relationships with senior stakeholders including Heads of Department to ensure their teams are appropriately supported to deliver great client service, continuous overview of current resourcing needs and identifying future requirements, working with the Talent Officer to attract and regularly recruit new team members, ensuring appropriate adjustments to rotas are in place to manage holiday and sickness absences, meeting with individual fee earners to resolve any issues and ensure a satisfactory level of support is delivered performance, assessing the need for training on an individual and team level, designing and implementing training programs accordingly, working with the HRP to ensure the necessary training budget is available for the team, evaluating the legal support processes and implementing improvements and managing the appraisal process for the team including gathering feedback and conducting appraisal meetings twice a year.  Other duties will include being responsible for performance management and disciplinary matters for team members seeking guidance from the HRP as appropriate team, managing and participate in the development and delivery of change management initiatives and projects as it relates to the legal support team and working in conjunction with other business services heads including marketing, finance, and compliance to ensure business requirements are met HR responsibilities.

 

The successful Secretarial Manager needs to have a minimum of 2 years secretarial supervisory experience within a law firm, excellent team leading, communication and organisational skills and the ability to work closely with all areas of the business.  Standard hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm with a generous salary and benefits package on offer plus agile working.
