A top UK Law firm is looking to hire a new Senior Practice Assistant on an initial 13-month FTC basis. This role will support the Employment team with all secretarial and administration duties, with an allocation of one partner, five associates, a senior associate, and a trainee. The hours for this role will be 9.30am – 5.30pm, two days a week in the office, three at home, and it offers a salary of £42-£45,000 dependent on experience, plus great benefits.

The responsibilities of the Senior Practice Assistant will include effective and proactive diary management with minimal supervision, showing an awareness of Fee Earners’ workloads to plan ahead. There will be a number of events such as committee lunches to organise, as well as an element of tribunal work, so experience in electronic and physical bundles and experience redacting bundles would be beneficial. This role also has an element of client interaction, so requires someone confident with a respectful, polite manner.

The Senior Practice Assistant will also be responsible for processing relevant applications, forms or searches, researching new clients/contacts and preparing bios before meetings, conducting basic research (on-line or otherwise) for Fee Earners when required, arranging travel and any other activities on behalf of Fee Earners, creating accurate typed work of a high quality at speed, formatted in accordance with house style following internal guidelines, creating new documents from the Firm’s templates, using contact data from InterAction, preparing bills (including bill narratives), preparing AML documentation and obtains relevant documentation, carrying out conflict searches. The Senior Practice Assistant will be tasked with maintaining up to date knowledge and a strong understanding of Fee Earners’ matters to be able to provide the best level support and assist with training sessions for the team and providing knowledge induction for new team PAs.

Candidates need to have previous secretarial experience within a law firm with, ideally with experience in an Employment department. Excellent written, communication and organisational skills are essential, in addition to excellent attention to detail.
