Senior Secretarial Services Manager

An incredible opportunity has arisen with one of our elite US law firm clients for a Senior Secretarial Services Manager to join their London office in the heart of the City.  In this role, you will be working closely with the Regional Director in various aspects of office management, including directly managing the 20+ PAs in London.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Secretarial Services Manager:

  • In consultation with HR, manage all aspects of PA employment, including attendance, recruitment, flexible working requests, mentoring, and coaching
  • Partner with the Regional Director on onboarding new partner hires in the London office
  • Work with the Regional Director to organise and oversee office and firmwide training programmes, including office and firm updates
  • Act as lead administrative manager in the Regional Director’s absence, ensuring appropriate oversight and approvals
  • Coordinate PA attendance, assess staffing needs, and arrange overflow support as required
  • Lead mid-year and annual PA performance reviews and submit salary increase and bonus proposals to HR
  • Schedule and chair regular PA meetings, organise team social events, and promote participation in office activities
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for PA costs and other assigned expenses, monitoring performance against budget

Skills & Requirements of the Senior Secretarial Services Manager:

  • 5+ years’ office management experience in a law firm
  • Previous people management experience of a PA population, including performance management
  • Familiarity with basic UK employment law
  • Flexibility with working hours and ability to travel, as required
