HR Manager

Our premier US law firm client is seeking to hire a forward thinking and collaborative HR Manager to join their award-winning Human Resources team:

  • Salary to £90,000
  • 09:30-17:30 working hours
  • Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days remote)

The HR Manager will work closely with the HR Specialist and Associate Director of HR and Administration to oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle for the London-based personnel including recruitment, onboarding, absences, employee relations, staffing, compensation reviews, disciplinary proceedings, and terminations.

HR Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as first point of contact for employee relations issues and support all HR related activities including, but not limited to, onboarding, probations, employee relations and offboarding
  • Manage all leaves of absence for London employees, including parental leaves and sickness absences
  • Supervise junior team members with respect to all departmental processes
  • Manage the annual business services appraisal process
  • Stay abreast of changes to UK employment laws including Equality Act, Data Protection and SRA Code of Conduct, monitor mandatory training and ensures compliance
  • Support business services teams with recruitment strategy and efforts and assist the Associate Director of HR to maintain appropriate staffing levels for the London office

HR Manager Skills & Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a law firm
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment laws
  • Uses initiative and works independently while keeping senior stakeholders and others informed at the appropriate level and frequency
  • Ability to easily shift priorities in a fast‐paced, high-pressure environment
