Our client is a prestigious London law firm – they are now looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Assistant to join their busy facilities department in London.
You will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the smooth running of their 3 offices in London.
The hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm (flexibility where required). The salary on offer is up to £30,000 FTE + benefits. This role is a 10-month FTC. This position will be office based 5 days a week.

Your responsibilities as a Maintenance Assistant:
• Monitoring and managing heating and cooling in the building
• Daily sweep of the building ensuring all spent light bulbs are replaced as soon as possible
• Dealing with all minor electrical and decoration tasks
• Purchasing of small items for maintenance tasks
• Being proactive in dealing with any maintenance issues
• Weekly testing of the fire alarms
• Assisting contractors i.e., pest control, building surveys, water testing, meter reading etc.
• Dealing with the setting and re-setting of meetings rooms
• Dealing with the erection and installation of new items of furniture
• Dealing with workstation/seating moves as required
• Dealing with maintenance emergencies which may arise i.e., blockages, burst pipes, electrical faults
• Reporting any issues to the Buildings Manager
• Any other duties as reasonably required by the Buildings Manager
Requirements as a Maintenance Assistant:
• Proven maintenance experience gained from a professional services setting
• Ability to work both as part of a team and unsupervised to meet the varied needs of the department
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and flexibly when required
• Organised manner with ability to prioritise tasks
• Flexibility to work 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday when needed to provide holiday cover
