Resource Executive

An exciting new role has come up due to team expansion for a skilled Resource Executive to join a recognised global law firm in London – this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing Resource Management team, working alongside a Senior Manager based in London and a Consultant in Sydney.

  • 09:30-17:30 working hours and hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days remote)

In this role, you will help enhance an established work allocation structure and play a key part in driving the implementation and firmwide adoption of effective resource management practices. You’ll be instrumental in supporting the firm’s commitment to operational excellence and talent development across its global offices.

Resource Executive Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimise work allocation and staff deployment in line with pipeline demands, utilisation trends, and forecasted fee earner capacity
  • Generate and distribute insightful reports and management information for Partners and HR, offering data-driven resourcing recommendations
  • Identify potential risks from resource shortages or imbalances and develop strategies to mitigate these challenges
  • Collaborate with fee earners and Resource Assistants across all locations to ensure matter portfolios align with individual career development needs and interests, where possible
  • Maintain an understanding of individual skills, development needs, experiences, and personal / professional aspirations to inform resourcing decisions
  • Oversee new joiners to ensure they understand the Resource Management role and monitor their utilisation Progress

Resource Executive Skills & Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in work allocation or resource management within a law firm
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Excellent IT skills and experience working with resource management software
  • Ability to implement pragmatic work allocation solutions
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
