Conflicts Lawyer

 

A prestigious US law firm is seeking a Conflicts Lawyer to assist with the review, identification and resolution of any potential conflicts issues with respect to clients, matters, as well as new hires. The Conflicts Attorney will be actively following-up on conflicts clearance with all responsible parties handling new engagements.

Key Responsibilities of the Conflicts Lawyer:

 

  • Review and provide thorough and timely analysis of all Firm new business to identify ethical and business conflicts of interest
  • Utilise available internal and external databases, communication with Partners, other lawyers and business services colleagues to follow up on and resolve all potential conflicts of interest
  • Maintain thorough, accurate and current records of all conflicts resolutions in database to ensure integrity of the database and assist in identification and clearing of future conflicts of interest
  • Assisting Executive Assistants, lawyers and staff in understanding the Firm’s new matter intake, conflicts, Anti Money Laundering, and other compliance procedures
  • To take the lead on London and non-US based conflicts, reporting directly to the Office of the General Counsel

 

Skills & Requirements of the Conflicts Lawyer:

 

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum 2+ years of conflicts experience required
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization in various functions and locations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and spoken
  • Proven ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law
  • Familiar with standard technology environments
  • Able to collaborate or work autonomously as needed
