Our client is a leading global law firm – they are now looking to recruit an experienced Conflicts Analyst to join their busy and expanding conflicts team in London.

 

The purpose of the Compliance department is to advise the London Office on English law and regulation, provide commercial solutions and promote professional integrity.

 

The Compliance Team is responsible for providing legal, risk and regulatory advice and support to the London office. It assists the firm in managing new client and business acceptance and general compliance matters.

 

The standard hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm. The salary on offer is £45,000 to £50,000 + Benefits. This is a permanent position.

Your responsibilities as a Conflicts Analyst will include:

  • Conduct conflict checks for attorneys on new matters, pitches, and corporate affiliate research requests, utilising a variety of reference materials and information resources
  • Apply appropriate techniques for the review, analysis, and interpretation of complex search results as part of the conflict analysis and reporting process
  • Communicate in a prompt and succinct manner with the attorney or requestor to ascertain/gather additional information when required
  • Perform self-evaluative quality control checks of conflict-of-interest reports prior to distribution
  • Perform detailed and extensive corporate business structure research of potential clients, related parties, affiliates, and adverse parties, using a variety of reference materials
  • Assist Conflicts and Compliance teams in evaluating relationships between entities and individuals
  • Perform research and analysis utilising questionnaire data for lateral hires as well as new attorneys, summer associates, and secondees
  • Responsible for all securities trading process requests in accordance with the firm’s securities trading guidelines/policies
  • Develop functional knowledge of key processes and procedures for the analyst team in order to substitute or provide back up for any team member immediately when needed

Requirements as a Conflicts Analyst include:

  • Relevant experience within a compliance, legal conflicts management or risk team preferably at a major law firm – essential
  • Good use of written and oral English – essential
  • Working knowledge of conflicts platforms such as 3E Conflicts; InTapp Open; iManage Conflicts Manager (Elegrity); Pitchbook; Dun & Bradstreet; Worldcheck; Capital IQ; Orbis; Accuity – preferred
  • Degree or equivalent relevant qualifications – desirable
  • Knowledge of the SRA Rules, US conflict rules and anti-money laundering legislation – desirable
