Finance Assistant

This international US law firm is looking to welcome a Finance Assistant to its London office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team, taking on a varied, all-round role with exposure to a broad range of day-to-day transactional and operational finance duties.

Finance Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the day-to-day finance function, including data entry, invoice processing, and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Provide end-to-end billing support, including preparing client bills, managing time entries and transfers, editing narratives, and ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including third-party vendor invoices, reconciliations, monitoring outstanding payments, and maintaining related Excel trackers
  • Prepare and process employee expenses in line with firm policies
  • Produce financial reports, analytics, and Excel-based documentation, including WIP and time summary reports, to support the Legal Support Team
  • Work closely with legal teams to resolve billing queries and discrepancies, providing responsive finance support
  • Reconcile the IPO account, process IPO invoices, and maintain associated records
  • Support Client Account transactions in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules, firm policies, and internal financial controls
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing, archiving, and document management

Finance Assistant – What We’re Looking For:

  • Good knowledge of SRA guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of legal accounting software
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Excellent IT and IT troubleshooting skills, also able to comfortably pick up new systems with a logical approach
  • Time management and organisation skills, and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple deadlines
